Lonny Carpenter Sings...

As a young man growing up on a farm in Southwest Minnesota, Lonny bought a guitar on a whim.  He taught himself how to play the guitar, write songs and perform ‘classic’ country music.

Lonny’s passion for sharing music led him from the choir to the pulpit, as a pastor in his hometown.  Lonny and his wife Angie have raised three beautiful daughters, and will soon enjoy being grandparents for the first time.

Since he was young, Lonny has been interested in the history of World War II.  He has been particularly moved by the courage and patriotism of the men and women who bravely fought and gave their lives so the rest of us may have the freedom we enjoy, today that one day he simply sat down and wrote a song that reflected those feelings.   Along with Don Rasdal of Media Productions, Inc of Sioux Falls, he produced the music video entitled "The Greatest Generation, Thank You For America!"

USS South Dakota Memorial thanks Lonny Carpenter for the use of this music video.
